*** Overview ***

The NT website is being developed by webmaster from both domestic and overseas resources via internet. The site is the result of research into users' and potential users' needs for information and their preferences for English studies & Australia exploration.

- A set of "principles" has been derived from my research:
...The images of NT on the Web might be high-tech, but human.
...The textual content should be simple and meaningful.
...The home page should fit on one screen if possible.
...The Web should allow work to be done and decisions to be made.
...It should be fresh; there should always be something new.
...Pages should load fast.
...The site should look good and function properly on a variety of browsers including Netscape and MS Explorer.

- In addition, the site structure reflects the findings of the research:
...About NT is intended to provide external audiences with an overview of NT, its activities and environment.
...Given the disparity of users' needs, two customised pages have been created: For English studies seeking-user and For Australia info seeking-user:
...Research: Almost all current and potential user groups have an interest in research.
Information resources: This is reserved for several in-demand information resources such as the Library.

The principle of freshness will be accomplished by always providing something new in the each session of the home page.

- Alternative access to information contained at the NT web site is available in three ways:
...Index:Straight way research available via some valuable serch engines.
...Search link:Tons of search links which allow simple & advanced queries and cover all sections over the world.
...Each session: A pull-down menu and a side menu help users surf around the site frequently.

...Site Feedback : Much of the site is still under construction. I will continue to conduct research to help me refine and develop NT Web. Meanwhile, i welcome compliments, criticisms and constructive ideas. Please submit any suggestions and/or comments on this site. Entering your details(name,Email, comments) is optional.
